School Mecabio: Quantitative and predictive approaches in biomechanics and mechanobiology for health

Summer school From June 2, 2024 to June 7, 2024
Complément lieu

Biviers (near Grenoble)

Interdisciplinary research at the interface between mechanics, physics and biology has been booming over the last ten years. The aim of the school is to enable researchers from these different research communities to familiarize themselves with concepts and quantitative approaches for multiphysical characterization of the mechanical behavior of biological media, from the cellular to the macroscopic scale.

The school's strong point: Each course has a practical component for immediate application.

School “Kardar–Parisi–Zhang equation: new trends in theories and experiments”

Summer school From April 14, 2024 to April 26, 2024
Complément lieu

Ecole de Physique des Houches
149 chemin de la Côte
F-74310 Les Houches

The School "Kardar–Parisi–Zhang equation: new trends in theories and experiments" will be held in École de Physique des Houches, 14-26 April 2024.

Mehran Kardar, Giorgio Parisi and Yi-Cheng Zhang proposed in 1986 an equation describing the scale invariance of various growth phenomena. This field has experienced a second life in recent years with the identification of universal distributions highlighted in very different systems, both at the theoretical (spin chains, lattice gases) and experimental (cold atoms, exciton-polaritons) levels. The goal of this school is to provide a broad and accessible overview of these advances, together with the most recent results on these topics. Registration is open until March 1st, 2024.

Registration Opening
June 29, 2023

Registration Deadline
