School “Kardar–Parisi–Zhang equation: new trends in theories and experiments”

Summer school

From April 14, 2024 to April 26, 2024

KPZ

The School "Kardar–Parisi–Zhang equation: new trends in theories and experiments" will be held in École de Physique des Houches, 14-26 April 2024.

Mehran Kardar, Giorgio Parisi and Yi-Cheng Zhang proposed in 1986 an equation describing the scale invariance of various growth phenomena. This field has experienced a second life in recent years with the identification of universal distributions highlighted in very different systems, both at the theoretical (spin chains, lattice gases) and experimental (cold atoms, exciton-polaritons) levels. The goal of this school is to provide a broad and accessible overview of these advances, together with the most recent results on these topics. Registration is open until March 1st, 2024.
