Innovation and Partnerships

Our laboratory is part of a long tradition of instrumental and methodological developments in many fields of physics at the interface with environmental sciences, soft matter, biology or medicine. This strategic positioning of our research activities allows us to propose numerous innovations in a wide range of fields such as (but not limited to): metrology, imaging, telecommunications, processes and implementation of materials and biomaterials, or processes for semiconductors or petrochemistry, chemical and biological analysis or medical devices.

Our commercialization activities generally benefit from upstream programs of our supervisory bodies (CNRS and Université Grenoble Alpes) allowing to secure intellectual property, followed by a maturation phase with a view to creating a start-up or an industrial partnership based on the exploitation of patents issued from our laboratory, which can be conducted in partnership with a SATT (e.g. LINKSIUM).

Beyond this classical scheme of valorization, there are many possibilities of partnership allowing to benefit from the expertise of LIPhy:

  • Convention industrielle de formation par la recherche (CIFRE) (Industrial agreement for training through research) allowing to carry out a partnership research project through a doctoral thesis training.
  • Collaborative research projects co-financed by regional, national (e.g. call PRCE of the ANR) or European public-private programs.
  • Bilateral collaboration based on LIPhy expertise or technical means.
