Ultra-sensitive absorption spectroscopy

Molecular spectroscopy has applications in many fields. It is the basis for radiative transfer models used to map atmospheric pollutants and greenhouse gases from spectra recorded by ground-based instruments or onboard satellite platforms.

Molecular spectroscopy also provides access to temperature and pressure conditions and chemical reactions during combustion inside engines or turbines. Absorption spectroscopy techniques for the measurement of isotopic ratios also have a considerable contribution in the field of geosciences. Finally, these same absorption spectroscopy techniques are now emerging in the medical field with the analysis of patients' breath. All these applications require the use of spectroscopic databases that we contribute to feed via laboratory measurements performed with the high sensitivity CRDS (Cavity Ring Down Spectroscopy) technique.
