Experiments on blood flow and blood-endothelium interaction

eccel_mfluidique_copy.jpg

Experiments are performed in microfluidic channels (simple and complex networks) to study the appearance of blood aggregates under flow conditions. We also study the clogging of red blood cells in constrictions. Studies on pathological blood (such as diabetes) are initiated in collaboration with the hospital of Grenoble. The analysis of this problem will also be carried out in microfluidic networks covered with endothelial cells in order to analyze the interaction between circulating cells and the endothelium, and to identify abnormal events due to endothelial dysfunction.
