Swimming of microorganisms and motility of mammalian cells

Swimming (such as amoeboid swimming as well as autophoretic swimming) is analyzed theoretically. Several cases have been identified, such as the identification of complex trajectories, like helical motion and chaotic swimming mimicking the running and tumbling motion of real microorganisms. The motility of mammalian cells, directed by actin and myosin (as it is the case for immune cells), is analyzed and compared to experiments on T lymphocytes.
