Simulations of confined Brownian motion to salt questioning how water diffuse in PDMS.

Elodie MILLAN - (Post-Doc, MODI)
I'm going to present you my previous work before Liphy and how I switched from numerical simulations to experiments.
First is about the numerical simulation of confined Brownian motion: stochastic movement has been well-known for 200 years, until we tried to understand how it is in real life. How does confinement affect diffusion, and how can we measure it?
The second study is about the emergence of water droplets through PDMS. How, from salt, can we study water diffusion in a polymer (PDMS)?
Developpement of an Opto-Electronic Radar in the 0-2 THz Band and its applications.

Athenais BORDET-(PhD, LAME)
The year is 50 BC. The electromagnetic spectrum is entirely occupied by the technology. Well not entirely… One small band of indomitable frequencies still holds out against the invaders. And life is not easy for legionaries of who garrison the fortified camps of optics and microwave. In this talk we will explore the generation of Terahertz frequencies starting from optical sources. We will examine its application in 1D to measure distances, speed and thickness then in 2D with the imagery and spectroscopy applications. By the end of the talk, you will be able to defeat the Gaulls.
