The LACOSCOPE program was recognized in the ZEISS 2025 image competition, winning third prize for an exceptional image of plankton, revealing the complexity and beauty of lake ecosystems.

This achievement is the result of an unprecedented collaboration between Sylvie Costrel de Corainville, an optical engineer from the LACOSCOPE team, and Jean-François Motte, head of the NANOFAB platform. This success marks NANOFAB's foray into biological sample imaging. Together, they designed the sample preparation protocols and defined the optimal settings on the  FIB-SEM ZEISS Crossbeam microscope, recently installed on the platform. These initial acquisitions mark an important step in opening up the platform to new interdisciplinary applications.

This distinction illustrates the power of interdisciplinarity, which is at the heart of LACOSCOPE's objectives: to better understand biodiversity and the dynamics of lake environments.
