ReMCoM

The ReMCoM project, led by Kirsten Martens at LIPhy, is one of the International Research Projects (IRP) supported by CNRS Physics in 2025.

Entitled ReMCoM for Response and Memory in Complex Matter, the project aims to understand how disordered materials (glasses, soft materials, biological tissues) respond to mechanical stress and develop memory effects related to their deformation history. It combines theoretical, numerical, and experimental approaches and is part of a long-term Franco-Indian collaboration with a strong focus on training and international mobility.

The ReMCoM project involves several laboratories in France (Grenoble, Lyon, Paris, and Montpellier) as well as partners in India (Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, and Hyderabad), listed below.
